Task description Choose one of the following topics and discuss:

 

As professionals, teachers are to constantly engage with the principles outlined in a critical manner”.  Analyse and discuss the current Code of ethics for teachers. Compare with codes of other professions and teachers abroad. OR

The Education Act (Cap 605) establishes the right to apply for a license for Home Education.  Analyse the provisions regulating Home Education.  Also, refer to foreign scenarios and compare.

Task length 2,500 words (+/- 10%) (excluding bibliography and quotes)
Additional requirements 

 

Due attention should be given to style and grammar.  In your answer refer and compare to foreign legislation and literature where possible.  It is also important to relate your arguments with practical situations in everyday life. Focus should be on legal arguments more than the educational perspective.

Task 2

Task description 10-minute presentation on various topics + discussion.

 

Participants will be split into groups.  Different topics will be assigned to each participant.  A 10-minute presentation is to be uploaded and group members discuss presentations of the group.

 

Groups will be split after the second week of the course. Those who wish to view and discuss other group’s presentation are free to do so but this will not be taken into consideration for the task’s mark. 

Task weighting  25%
Task length 10 minutes – Presentations longer than 12 minutes will not be considered.
