Task type   Forum Contributions
Task description There are 3 Fora, named according to the themes covered during the module. As a course participant, you will contribute to each forum. You will contribute once to one of the fora as part of the Big Question Group (to be explained below). In the other 2 fora, you will contribute as an individual.

As a course participant, you will form part of a Big Question Group. Each Big Question Group is named according to one of the sub-themes of the module.

Each Big Question Group is formed from approximately 4 course participants.

Kindly refer to the Resource Module PPT 1.0 for further details. A summative diagram showing the contributions for each forum may be found in Appendix A below.

Each theme is divided into 2 sub-themes. The Fora, and the corresponding themes and sub-themes are:

For each forum, the task of the BIG QUESTION GROUP is to: Post a few reflections on the sub-theme and pose a ‘Big

Question’ to the other participants. The aim of the ‘Big Question’ is to evoke a healthy exchange of informed ideas. It could problematise the sub-theme being discussed, connect literature with the local scenario, inquire about practical implications, or incite the development of counterarguments.

The title of the group post should be clear

The Big Question should be in UPPERCASE, at the end of the post.

For each forum, the task of the rest of the course participants is to reply to ONE Big Question (eg. the Big Question posed by Subtheme 1A group or the Big Question posed by Sub-theme 1B group). The title of the individual post should be clear

o INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION= 5 marks x2= 10 marks

Task 2

Task type   Essay
Task description  Design an Action Plan to address an area that needs improvement in an educational institution. You may choose to use the Action Plan template provided by the Directorate or the template used by the educational institution where you work.

The Action Plan template may be found in Appendix B below. The Explanation of the Action Plan template may be found in Appendix C below.

Justify your decision for focusing on the selected Key Area and Priority Development Target by referring to data you might choose to collect and/or observations that could inform your decision. Explain the reasons underpinning the design of the different aspects of the Action Plan.

As an educational institution leader, how could one facilitate the successful implementation of the proposed Action Plan? Which leadership and managerial styles and approaches do you feel would be best suited?

In the essay, apart from the recommended readings, you are expected to refer to other relevant literary sources to substantiate your arguments and claims.
